About Me

I was born in Fresno, California and moved a few places (Iowa, New Jersey, Italy) before settling in the Central Valley to finish my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science and Teaching Credential at Fresno Pacific University. I have been teaching in Madera for 8 years and was recently named Madera County’s 2020 Excellence in Education Teacher of the Year. I taught at MLK Middle School for 7 years and am super excited to be teaching here at Torres! I hope to get my students excited about history and become life-long historians. When I’m not teaching I love to spend my time watching historical/cultural documentaries about the Cold War and I have recently taken up cross-stitch and embroidery like a Jane Austen character.
