About Me

Hi! I’m Ms. Tharp and I’ll be teaching in the ELA department at Torres. I have taught 3rd (2 years), 5th (1 year)  & 6th grade (3 years), and have a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. This is my first year teaching at the high school level and couldn’t be more thrilled! I’m an Assistant Coach for the Cross Country team and the Head Coach for the Swimming team at Torres. One piece of advice that I live by is, “Do what makes you happy, not what makes others happy.” When I’m not teaching I like to go hiking, camping, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. I’m continually inspired by my peers, my students, and the people that I love. I am passionate about learning and encourage everyone to constantly obtain new knowledge. My favorite subject in school was ELA because I enjoyed reading & writing more than anything else.
