Toro Athletics
Toro Nation, welcome to the 2024-2025 Athletic Season of Sport!!!!! This year we look to continue our success and to excel on and off the field/court. This is our 5th year as a school site. In those 5 years, this athletic program has brought home 7 section championships! Last year we had Boys’ Soccer, Girls’ Soccer, Cross Country, Wrestling & Football win Section Championships. Five section championships in one school year were simply amazing! Our Cross Country and Wrestling teams were back-to-back section champions last season and they look to make another run at a championship win this year. When it comes to our Track and Field team had a successful season with numerous individual champions and an NYL League Championship. Also, our 4 X 400-meter relay team shined last year as they qualified for the State Track and Field Championships. The members of our team include Lawrance Watson, Ethan Williams, Jesus Moreno & Jose Soriano. They went on to place 8th at the state meet and made history for Torres High and the city of Madera. Another team that made history last season was our Torres High Football team. They went on to win the first football section championship in School and Madera Unified History. Football has been played for many years in Madera and the Toros are the first to bring home a section championship. As an athletic program, we hope to continue this success and build on the traditions we continue to establish. I am looking forward to this 2024-2025 athletic season and school year and I hope you are too! Go Toros & Horns Up!!
Thank you,
